25 year on: realising the Beijing Declaration’s unfulfilled promise on macroeconomic policy
Webinar by the Gender and Development Network.
The webinar aims to provide feminists and women’s rights organisations with key information about the macroeconomic agenda outlined in the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPfA).
Although macroeconomic policy was a core part of the negotiations in 1995, its role in delivering women’s rights has largely been side-lined over the last 25 years.
This webinar seeks to inform the audience about what the BPfA says about macroeconomic policy and what still needs to be addressed in order to realise the ambitions it set out. It will also be a chance to discuss what opportunities are available in the lead up to, and including the UN General Assembly in September 2020, to reprioritise macroeconomic policy which is at the core of resourcing all women’s human rights concerns.
