VIRTUAL MONTHLY SESSIONS
JOIN THE SECOND IN THE SERIES ON THURSDAY, JULY 1ST @ 9-10:30AM DC time!
In this second session, IMF structure and how decisions are made, we’ll be demystifying the IMF, discussing how it is set up from its staff structure to its Board of Directors and Governors, and discussing different opportunities to influence this institution. How is the IMF's structure different from the World Bank's? What is the role of mission chiefs? Is the IMF required to consult with civil society? To influence the IMF on any issue, be its direction on climate policy, or the conditionality attached to a particular loan program, one of the most important things is understanding who makes decisions and how.
We’ll have a fairly informal set up and leave a healthy amount of time for questions and discussion. And we’ll be sure to keep it a lively and informative session where I am sure we will all learn greatly from one another! Do join us and share with others in civil society that you think would be interested. This session is limited to participation from civil society and allies within academia.
Moderator: Nadia Daar, Oxfam International
Presenter: Aldo Caliari, Jubilee USA
With inputs and sharing of experiences from a few others :)
