But instead of support, more loans are being pushed under austerity conditions -- loans that are likely to bail out private creditors who continue to elude even limited debt relief efforts. Peoples’ protests are being silenced with teargas, water cannons, arrests, increased military surveillance and questioning of civil society leaders.
