INFO: Invite COP26 logistics call with CSOs

Dear all,
For those of you who are planning to attend COP26, or whose delegations include people travelling to the UK from red list or amber list countries, then the COP26 unit is organising two calls to update people on relevant issues. Including information on quarantining in the UK (where, costs etc), vaccinations (types allowed etc), and on general COP26 logistics. More details are in the email below. It will also be an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.
Best regards,

Dear all,

We hope everyone is keeping safe and well.

We are writing to share an invite to our next large call with civil society and youth groups which will focus on our COP26 covid-secure summit planning and to share information on the recent IPCC report.

Invite - call on COP26 Covid Operations

We understand that covid logistics for COP26 is a priority for you and your preparations for engaging in COP26. This is why we said at our last call we will have a dedicated session for you to hear the latest updates and to ask any questions you may have on our covid planning assumptions. We will run two sessions to accommodate different time zones:

  1. Thursday 12th August, 16:00-16:45 BST UK time via this Microsoft Teams meeting joining link.

  2. Friday 13th August, 09:30-10:30 BST UK time via this Microsoft Teams meeting joining link.

Please accept the invite that works for your time zone. Please also continue to look at our website, which will have the latest information on our covid planning.

Publication of the IPCC report on Monday 9th August

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group report 1 was published on Monday 9 August. Press release is here.

The UK COP Presidency hosted an event with Patrick Vallance and climate scientists. The expert panel discussed how we can keep 1.5 alive and participated in a Q&A session with the media to draw attention to the latest climate science, and demonstrate the urgency with which we all need to act. COP President Designate’s speech is here

As ever, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact.
