Members Newsletter - October 2021

October 2021
#Covid-19 #DebtJustice #ClimateFinance #DevelopmentFinance #TaxJustice

Welcome to the October edition of our Eurodad members’ newsletter, where you can read about important developments in the team and in the larger network in last few months.

After a summer break, we have been fortunate that we were able to meet face to face for our annual retreat, where some colleagues met one another for the first time after months of home and hybrid working.

We are also happy to welcome two new staff members and look forward to welcoming a third at Eurodad, a new Communications Officer, Development Finance Assistant, and Communications Assistant (respectively), to further strengthen the Eurodad team.

Warm regards,

Jean Saldanha

Save the Date for Policy forum

We invite you to save the date for our Virtual Policy Forum this year, which will be taking place on 22-26 November 2021. Topics for this year will include the Post-Covid recovery, COP26, and a chance to plan following the Annuals.

The final outline programme will be sent to members and available on the KMP soon.

Signed partnership with CAN

In July we signed a strategic partnership with CAN Europe to actively work together. This gives us observer status to CAN International's email lists and working groups. Whilst we have not signed a partnership with CAN International, we are allowed to actively work with them too.

Engaging with members of members

Eurodad’s membership includes many membership-based organisations, such as national platforms in Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Romania, Slovakia and Sweden. Connecting your member organisations to our network can happen through these channels:

Sharing expertise among the secretariat of platforms and members of platforms. That’s why capacity-building sessions are open to both members of a platform and the platform’s secretariat. Access to the Eurodad KMP is open to all. Members of platforms can find a wealth of information relating to Eurodad’s areas of work, including recordings of previous training and capacity-building sessions.

Platform members can attend events and take part in campaigns and advocacy activities. Platforms can be represented by their members in Eurodad meetings. Eurodad’s biannual International Conferences and Policy Forums are also open to platform members, alongside their platform’s secretariat.

Communication: we endeavour to connect our policy teams with members of platforms that work on Eurodad issues, and welcome them to our coalitions.

The agenda includes thematic sessions with Eurodad's policy teams, as well as reflections on the sustainability of new member engagement and planning for the future.
