Members Newsletter - July 2021

Dear friend,

Welcome to the July edition of our Eurodad members’ newsletter!

Although we only sent our last update a month ago, exciting events and changes have taken place since then. Our virtual General Assembly took place last month, where we welcomed new allies and board members. We have had to say goodbye to some of our current staff members and are preparing ourselves to welcome new ones after the summer break. As well as this, we're able to share some informative and engaging resources, such as recordings of the webinars that took place this month, useful videos and training sessions.

I'd like to also take this opportunity to invite you to save the date for our Virtual Policy Forum this year, which will be taking place in the week of November 22 2021. More information on the Policy Forum itself will be disseminated in September.

And finally, please share your thoughts on how to best make use of our new Knowledge Management Platform tool by filling in this short survey.

All of our staff members are looking forward to a well deserved summer break after such a busy and engaging period. We hope that our members and allies across the globe are staying safe and well as we continue to navigate these ever-changing times. We look forward to reaching out to you again in September, refreshed and ready to continue to work on the fight for financial justice.

Warm Regards,

Jean Saldanha

Eurodad Director

Welcoming new allies

We are delighted to welcome two new statutory allies to the network.

Changemaker is a Norwegian youth organisation that empowers youth and gives them the means to work for a more just world. It aims to identify the fundamental causes of global injustice and work to address them through creative and exciting campaigns. Changemaker works on a range of issues, including debt and tax justice.

Welcoming Dominik Gross to the board

The recent General Assembly also saw a new board member elected to a three-year term. Dominik Gross is Policy Adviser for International Finance and Tax Policy at Alliance Sud, Switzerland. He has interests in debt justice, political economy, human rights, media and campaign strategies, journalistic research, organisational development and strategy.

PSI and PPP trainings are now online

As part of the capacity-building programme for new Eurodad members and allies, two recent introduction sessions took place.

On 27 May, a training session on private sector instruments in the context of official development assistance (ODA) featured a presentation of Eurodad’s recent report Time for Action by Nerea Craviotto.

On 15 June, Eurodad’s Océane Blavot and Farwa Sial led an induction session on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), introducing participants to the problems with PPPs and how to join CSO campaigns and joint advocacy activities in the field.
