Open Letter on Debt Cancellation with Complete List of more than 550 signatories from over 96 Countries
The Global Week of Action for Debt Cancellation took place on October 10-17.
The activists involved in the Global Week of Action for Debt Cancellation (10 - 17 October) gathered more than 500 organisations from 96 countries to call upon world leaders attending the virtual IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings, along with the G30 Finance Ministers Meeting, to act on debt cancellation, including that owned to private creditors. The civil society coalition sent an open letter to governments, international institutions and lender groups ahead of the G20 Finance Ministers meeting and the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings, calling for immediate debt cancellation to help lower-income countries fight Covid-19.
